Oughties Big Rapids Living, Out Now!

Current version

This current release (v1.1) gives you 24 new object / recolor items, 6 clothing items, and 14 new buildings to explore; all based on real items and locations relevant to Big Rapids and Ferris State. It also comes with authorized tracks from Unlisted, and some folder icons for Windows, Mac, and Linux, modeled after various businesses in the area. The pack's theme is centered around the late 2000s in Big Rapids, seeking to recapture as close as possible the feel of that time period.

Want your Sims to experience college life in parts of a real college town? Know what it's like to live in homes that really exist in an actual college town? Consider this pack as a way to make Discover University a bit more fun. Each item not only is based on something that exists (or did), but has a history to it!

And if you're ever curious about why so much of Big Rapids is pivotal to the development of Dozerfleet Productions, play this pack and find out!

Don't forget to read the manual!

The handbook details each item in this pack's catalog, it's history, etc.

Harvard now run by Nazis???

Slightly off topic, but relevant to the greater Dozerfleet mission. A commentary by the founder of Dozerfleet:

The world of Swappernetters sounds more and more like it could happen in real life! Maybe the space ruby wizard bad guys part won't; but a lot of the rest is already on its way! The Chrome Kite and Icy Finger may be fictional; but their "education" agenda is very real! And so is their effort to oppress independent learning efforts that wish to avoid state propaganda indoctrination!

As this article makes poignantly clear, Harvard (f)Law Screwl will now stoop to any lengths to malign and blood libel homeschooling of all forms, calling for an immediate ban. Using comical strawmen, laughable stereotypes, and sheer ignorance as if making "solid arguments" - which are then taken as such by lawmakers anyway!

I myself was not homeschooled; but I have a very well-adjusted cousin that was. I went through a "Christian" day school system in K-8 that was basically public school with a tiny amount of religion sprinkled on top of it.

Let me tell you: the idea that public schools are safer places to be than homeschooling, is side-splittingly, hysterically hilarious on its face!

She speaks of children having a "right" to a secular education, to become one of society's mindless NPCs. But what of their equal right to refuse it??? Nope. Well, it's not a "right" if it's mandatory to comply, is it? If a child has had a taste of both, and prefers homeschooling, she would deny them it. Because "their rights" (read: her control).

This is the sort of double talk that Nazi Germany used - and is being recycled by the courts in modern Germany. And by Harvard now, apparently! Same theological rot, same worship of the state, same double-talk, same oppression, same targets!!!

America, you've been Paperclipped!

Coming soon: Oughties Big Rapids Living Stuff

The download is ready, via MediaFire. But it needs a guide / manual. That manual is pending for the end of today. Both the manual and upload should be available on its own DzMD page under the Sims 4 category fairly soon.

Switching themes

Recent events have yielded a sort of pessimism about the immediate future of civilization. As such, this blog's Tomorrowland-esque theme will be replaced with a post-apocalyptic theme. New skin arriving soon.

New setting

It is some indefinite time in the future. Veskinsaya won its freedom from the Beast of the Sea, which sent the Second Wave to demolish its freedoms and to undo the legacy of Ivan Wilinski. Memory of the town's hero is fading. His Three Bulldozer siege burned in the locals' hearts, but it was clearly not going to work the same way a second time. The monument had been destroyed. Winning back Veskinsaya to the ideals won to it by Ivan's legacy was hard-fought, especially in a brutal modern age.

Yet, defeating the Second Wave came at a price. Veskinsaya was now a wasteland. One of its few constants, was its nostalgia. As such, to gain inspiration for rebuilding, Veskinsayans developed a ramshackle new laboratory, to make trinkets that would pay homage to the legacy of a bygone era - while building itself up to craft a better future.

Part-museum, part-factory, the old Fleet from Ivan's day would be remembered. And Dozerfleet Labs was determined to keep history alive.

Pack Condensation

The DzMD packs for Sims games have been condensed, for the sake of ease of organization and release. There are 56 packs pending for The Sims 4, 10 for The Sims 3, and 12 re-releases for The Sims 2. If a Dozerfleet favorite character from the Database didn't make the cut, don't despair. They may appear in a future game mod for a future game title. A Sims Medieval list is pending, as well as a Paralives tab (for when that game is released, if it winds up being supported.) The MakeHuman and Spore tabs will have very limited content.

After these packs are all accounted for, DzMD won't get new activity until Paralives is released, and a final determination can be made on supporting mods for it.

However, the other widgets, and bits of support for other divisions' contents (such as free literature handouts) will take this blog's new focus.

Citric Sid back online

Not many recipes have survived from this era. But the few that are here, couldn't have come to you at a better time. Bored in an unconstitutional, mandatory quarantine? Still have some money left, but wish your job were "essential" (according to logic that state governors are taking directly from the playbook of Nazi Germany, whether they realize it or not)?

Well, then you don't have many reasons left to not try out these recipes. They may just make for an interesting dinner evening. And they taste a lot better than the current artworks present them (new display images pending.) Just click this blog's Citric Sid tab, and go straight to a catalog to download a dish that interests your taste buds!

DzMD Paralives support?

Paralives is definitely being considered for content generation and support in the future. However, nothing can be confirmed until the game is released. If it is sufficiently superior to The Sims 4, then it could wind up replacing Sims in the future in regards to being the flagship software DzMD revolves around most.

All support for it depends entirely on whether or not the Dozerfleet Main station can operate the game. The Sims 5's specs would surpass by far the hardware specs of the current Main tower. The Sims 4 is technically more demanding than what the tower was designed to handle.

As such, the future main tower's arrival date, and hardware requirements by any future games supported by DzMD, determines if and when Sims 5 or Paralives ever arrive in a Machinomic Downloadables page on this blog.

Why the futuristic theme?

A lab should always want to strive to be a lab of tomorrow. That goes for the redesign / rebranding of this blog. Granted, sometimes, one must reflect back, to remember why one must move forward.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that most of the initial content that will be added here will be goodies from years gone by.  Highlights of history, that will finally have a proper home.

That in mind, this isn't the new home of literally all of Dozerfleet.  If the future shock theme isn't your cup of tea for everything, you needn't fear.  Only the Labs division is adopting it full scale.

Dozerfleet Studios will have some blog posts here, especially if freelance photography ensues in the near-future.  But most of the classic Dozerfleet material receiving video will still be on YouTube.

Dozerfleet Comics / Literature may post links to free literature download links here, as is appropriate.  However, concept art and early draft script work will still be on DeviantArt.  Most downloads on DeviantArt, however, will be moved here.

Most new game mod contents will be found here, though copies of a few items may remain on Mod the Sims.

Past projects, especially Comics division-related, will still be featured on the Dozerfleet Database on Fandom.

Journal posts about the Labs division will be here from now on.  As will be Dozerfleet Records-related posts.  However, Comics-related and Literature-related division posts will be on DeviantArt, MeWe, and Facebook.

Welcome to the all-new Dozerfleet Labs!

This is going to be the future home of Dozerfleet Labs ™, a division of Dozerfleet Productions ™. You may know it more for the divisions Dozerfleet Studios ™ (on YouTube) and Dozerfleet Comics ™, which publishes via DeviantArt and the Dozerfleet Database (on Fandom). Once this site is fully up and running, it will be the go-to for all Labs division content. That includes Dozerfleet Machinomic Downloadables (DzMD ™) Which means all available game content and mods generated for Universe Sandbox, Sims, and other franchises can be found here. A few non-game goodies may also be included, as the need / desire arises. Stay tuned for more!
