The Horrorday Gang: What's Your Straggele Codename?

Description

Background details

Plenty of games exist around Christmas consisting of "What's your elf name?" and similar. But what about dark "elves"? What about Straggele? Villains and antiheroes (outside of Scrooge and the Grinch) of the Yuletide have been overlooked by these games for too long! Not anymore! The Straggele from The Horrorday Gang, part of The Gerosha Chronicles, are now getting their representation.

Before most have ever heard of the North Pole Mafia of Adolphus Kraus, Polly Wilson, Gerald Smack, Luca Ricci, or Ivalu Molgaard; Yuletide monsters have already had a long and storied tradition in the folklore of Europe, even dating back to its early pagan days. Scharfkatze ("razor cat") may not be as intimidating as the original Yule Cat; but only fools would pick a fight with her!

And what of Luftmaedchen?

She's one of the only characters mentioned on this game / poster that has no Commercialist Christmas special nor classic Yule myth justification. Krampus and Perchta are obvious in their inspiration. Luca is obviously Evil Frosty; and Jerry is Evil Rudolph. Luftmaedchen comes from neither of these. Rather, she's an import from Blood Over Water mythos.

So are the Dark Reindeer, whom Jerry slaughtered, even if their names do have commercialist influence:

  • Slasher (Evil Dasher)
  • Mancer (Evil Dancer)
  • Trancer (Evil Prancer)
  • Succubus (Evil Vixen)
  • Dinokiller ("dinosaur-killer-grade asteroid", Evil Comet)
  • Niulang (Chinese Evil Cupid)
  • Kernwaffen ("Nuclear Warhead", Evil Donder)
  • Lichtvorführung ("light show," Evil Blitzen)
